There is nothing like metallics and even more so metallic leather. It may remind you of the 1970’s but that was a fabulous era after all.
Metallics add pizzazz. Obviously you may not want an all metallic outfit. But, a metallic shoe, maybe metallic jacket or maybe even leggings or a purse will do the trick. Also remember a previous post on metallics in the beauty world: GO METALLIC!
I got back into the metallic look when looking for my Halloween costume this year She-Ra. I know I am dating myself but She-Ra was so cool when I was younger and pretty much the first female superhero that I remember besides Wonder Woman. I went to my trusted Amazon and found my costume. Now I knew I was not going to go with bare legs. And I was not going to buy gold boots…or wait was I?
It was surprising to see the amount of tall metallic boots and sparkly boots available by high-end designers. I know that over the knee boots are in but they are just not my style. But wow they were all over the place on sites like Nordstrom and Saks as well. I elected to go with an ankle bootie, gold metallic leather by BCBG Max Azria Runway. They are comfortable and have enough of a metallic leather to do the trick for the costume.
I was also able to find comfortable high-waisted gold leggings to complete the look. I realized I could use these items just for a regular outfit and also for Indian outfits in the future. Leggings don’t always have to be black!
A little metallic obviously goes a long way. I have some similar options listed below from Amazon. My sweater coat was purchased a couple of years ago from Etsy and I still love to pull it out during fall and winter. Below is my finalized She-Ra costume, it was a lot of fun to wear a wig for once ??.
